Last week a nice lady named Tara got in touch with us. She and her co-workers had been feeding a cat outside their job, a cat they called her Kitten Grey. As girl cats living outside tend to do, one day she showed up with a big ol’ belly and everyone realized that she was with kitten, or kittens as the case is. Tara took the stray cat, now Mama Grey, and her kittens home when they were newborns and she’s been kind enough to foster them ever since. Now the kitties are of an adoptable age and she needed help getting them vetted and finding homes, which is where we stepped in.
Today the kitties and mama were all neutered, vaccinated, and de-wormed. There are two boy kittens and two girl kittens, all little tabbies. Mama Grey is tiny.. just a teenage mama herself. The kittens just hit 2 lbs, the minimum weight at which we can spay/neuter.
Here are the kittens all together:
Here is one kitten, a girl:
A boy kitten:
Here is the other boy, an extremely sweet but EXTREMELY scared little kitten:
He did a bit better when he was able to crawl up into his foster mom’s hair:
I won’t post a pic of the second girl as Tara is pretty sure she’ll keep her. She’d keep Mama instead, but Mama isn’t too happy about sharing her home with Tara’s dogs. She has so far only been in a crate with a dog in the room, so it’s possible that in a normal home situation, she’d be fine with dogs. Tara said she’d let Mama Grey live outside if it were the only option for her, but let’s try to get her a home.. If she were a kitten, we would have NO PROBLEM placing her. Let’s not let her never have a cushy inside home just because she’s 4 months past her kitten prime! She’s very small, very young, and super sweet. She just had MAJOR surgery so she’s groggy and not so happy about her picture being taken…

And here are some videos of the kittens. They stopped by one of our volunteer’s house after their surgery and she couldn’t get over how lovey-dovey they were with one another — they were just rubbing against each other and purring and being so happy and sweet. It’d be a blessing to see the three available kittens and mama go home in pairs so they could keep this sweet family love throughout their lives.
The kittens are being fostered in Lake Worth and are as of now spay/neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. Kitten adoption fees are $45 per kitten; since the mama kitty is over 3 months, her adoption fee is just $25. She was given a rabies vaccine and microchipped as well. Please email us for an application, and please please please pass this on to everyone you know who may have room for a kitten (or two!) in their home!
